The "real" meaning of the candy cane

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
We got a magazine in the mail yesterday with an advertisements for christmas stuff, candy canes, ect. Now everyone knows that candy canes are candy "canes" right? Well this is the "real" meaning of candy canes.
Many years ago a candy maker wanted to make a candy that would symbolize the true meaning of christmas-Jesus. The hard candy was shaped like a "J" to represent that Jesus is our rock of all ages. The candy was made of white to stand for the pureness of Jesus. The red represents the blood that Jesus shed to save us from our sins. So the next time you see a candy cane take a minute to remember the real meaning of christmas.
I thought that it was kind of neat. I never knew that a candy "cane" was actually ment to be a "J"! And when people hang them on christmas trees each year they are hanging them upside down! I wonder, did the candy maker actually call them "candy canes" or was it something else like "candy J's"?

Presents I got for my birthday

Hello! I haven't posted in a week or two so my mom told me a could post about my birthday. These are birthday presents I got for my birthday when we went to celebrate at the park on September 8th. My mom bought me a pack of raspberry m&m's which are almost gone now LOL!

My dad had this and gave it to me for my birthday. It's purple one of my favorite colors and my mom's! :)
This is a white Persian webkinz cat I got. I also got a few packs of webkinz cards to go with it . It's sooo soft and furry. :)

I got this Ty cat also. It's a halloween cat with an orange ribbon and its name is Moonstruck. It's also soft and furry. :)
And my mom gave me these Lord of the Rings book marks. They go great with my Lord of the Rings book I'm reading and they have two sides!

And this is the other side of the book marks. I had a wonderful birthday with balloons, cupcakes, and lunch! We even got to go play on the play gym for a while. I LOVE my presents!
